 Oneota Elementary School opened in Nov. 1888 at 4420 W. First St. by the incorporated Village of West Duluth. Merged with the Duluth School District when the village of West Duluth merged with the City of Duluth in 1894. The school closed its services to students in 1946 and became a storage facility for the School District until it was tore down ion 1973.
