First Wave of Swedish immigrants land in Duluth June 1869 from the steamer Norman. Recruited to build the Northern Pacific Railroad. Some of the recruits were families. The NP Railroad built two immigrant houses at the foot of 5th and 6th Ave. East to handle this and future immigrants recruited to build the railroad.
