 Andrea Miller, Was elected the Village of Duluth President in 1877 after the first City of Duluth went bankrupt and lost its charter. In 1917 Miller left money in a trust to build a free and public hospital for everyone. The result was Miller Memorial built in 1934 which is now part of Essentia Health. Â Miller made his money logging in NE MN. and also built the Lyceum Theatre with out special boxes for the rich. Duluth Public Library Picture.
