 Camile Poirer, a shoemaker by trade. also delivered water drawn from Lake Superior in the winter time. Pictured here standing by one of his rigs in 1870. He also designed a new back pack. Â His pack was canvas, had shoulder straps and a buckle. Â The Poirer Pack became the Duluth Pack and is still made today by the Duluth Tent and Awning Co.
