KDAL TV (Ch 3)hit the airwaves in March 1954, abut 14 days after WDSM Ch 6,  They had 5 .5 hours of programing with local shows and pre-filmed shows from  the network. Direct network shows were not available to Duluth at that time.  Some of the  pre recorded films were  the Colgate Comedy Hour, Howdy Doody, One Man's Family, Western Ranger, Uncle Harry and the NBC News Reel.
